On Sunday, three Heads of State will take part in the celebration of Universal Children’s Day which will be hosted in Lusaka.

The main event will be celebrated by HAKINDE HICHILEMA and his counterparts in Zimbabwe and Botswana, Emmerson Manangwa and Mokgweetsi Masisi.

This year’s theme is a better future for every child.

Acting Cabinet Secretary Patrick Kangwa said children from the three countries will have the opportunity to engage in an interactive dialogue with their heads of state.

Mr. Kangwa says that through dialogue the children will advocate for the placement of key issues related to children’s rights on the presidential agenda of the three countries.

He told ZNBC News in a statement that the event commemorates the signing of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Mr. Kangwa said that the United Nations Children’s Fund-UNICEF is dedicating Universal Children’s Day to raise awareness of the most pressing issues facing children around the world.
