MP Tyson Simozingili has called on the police to patrol and search for illegal weapons in the Southern Province’s Goembe area.
This is due to the increased killing.
Mr. SIMUZINGILI told ZNBC News in an interview in Lusaka that just in the past two weeks, a senior chief and three other people were shot dead by unknown persons.
The deputy said that the killings are carried out by people who possess illegally obtained firearms.
Mr SIMUZINGILI said police officers should embark on a house-to-house search to eliminate illegal weapons in the area.
He said the killings had spread fear in the region and there was a need for the police high command to intervene.
